A regas helps when refrigerant is low. It cannot fix a broken system.
Air conditioning performance can fade as refrigerant is lost over time. Recharging the system can restore colder air when low refrigerant is the cause. A sudden loss of cooling, however, may point to a leak, damaged pipe, condenser, compressor, pressure sensor or electrical fault.
That is why the appointment is confirmed against the vehicle first. If the agreed regas procedure is completed but a pre-existing defect prevents the system from cooling, the service terms provide for a 50% charge. At the current price that is £48 including VAT. Any repair is quoted separately and is never added without your agreement.
Air conditioning is useful beyond hot weather too. Dry conditioned air helps clear misted windows, so a working system matters on wet mornings as well as during a London heatwave.

If the agreed regas procedure is carried out but a pre-existing leak, broken pipe or failed component prevents the system from cooling, 50% of the full service price is payable. At the current price this is £48 including VAT. Your statutory rights are not affected.
